| Shipping & Handling | Aspirate enlarged lymph node or tissue of interest and prepare one smear (air dried) and place the rest of the sample in an EDTA tube by rinsing the needle and syringe with 2-3 mL of saline. The saline should appear slightly cloudy indicating sufficient cells. If possible, add 1-2 drops of serum which will keep cells stable for 72 hours if refrigerated or kept on ice. If cells are in saline without serum, they are stable for approximately 48 hours at refrigeration temperature. Submit copy of recent cytology report of lymph node or tissue. Collect EDTA blood or bone marrow aspirate which is stable for 72 hours if refrigerated. Submit a fresh blood or bone marrow smear and a copy of recent CBC. Ship on ice packs. |
